The Hunslet "War Office" Type Locos
Photos
Photos in Argentina
Argentina was the greatest user of the surplus Hunslets after the war, a large number going to
The Buenos Aires and Great Southern Railway (BAGS), and some to Leach Brothers Argentine Estates.
Of those to BAGS the first 5 remained as coal fired tank locos (all withdrawn by 1948), the rest
(at least 20) were converted to oil firing with a bogie tender (and sidetanks removed). At least 12
of the BAGS tender locos subsequently operated on the Correntino Railway. This closed in 1969.
Historical

- 1270 in ex-works condition, still carrying its WD No. at Leach Brothers Argentine Estates, Ingenio La Esperanza, San Pedro de Jujuy

- 1337 as Correntino Railway 661, believed also
 now plinthed

- 1339 at Balcarce, Province of Buenos Aires, again
still retaining its WD No. I have no lists that use the FCS number painted on the loco, this loco was apparently BAGS No2

- FCS103

Preserved
- 1332 on static display in 1975 in Buenos
Aires, apparently it has now moved to the National Railway Museum in that city
